Microsoft WPC 2015: The Dynamics Lowdown

Once again, HSO attended the annual Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) to soak up all of the latest news from Microsoft, and the insights that will inform our Dynamics business in the coming 12 months.

As a member of Microsoft’s Elite Inner Circle of Dynamics Partners, we were particularly interested in the developments within the world of Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management; and WPC did not disappoint.

From what was a highly informative week for the Microsoft Partner channel, here are some key WPC highlights that we in particular expect to shape the Dynamics community:

Microsoft Dynamics Join the CSP Program

Microsoft signaled its intent to embed ERP into the cloud, with the announcement that Dynamics AX 7 will be part of the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) Program. By opening up control of billing to Partners, ERP providers will be able to take greater control of the provision of Microsoft Dynamics AX solutions; helping to deploy software in a way that works for the customer. It was also announced that Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online will be added to the CSP Program

Welcome to Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services

One of the key takeaways from WPC was the unveiling of Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services being opened up to anyone with a Windows Live account.

Through the Dynamics Lifecycle Services program, prospective Dynamics AX and CRM users can understand the adoption path to ensure future deployments are predictable and completed against time and budget scales, saving project teams hundreds of labor hours from the deployment cycle.

The Lifecycle Services Program is set to help customers better leverage the Microsoft Dynamics AX and CRM solutions and they insight they provide.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM on Azure

In more cloud focused news from WPC, customers will now be able to host on-premise editions of Microsoft Dynamics CRM in privately managed Azure environments. This will enable CRM users to retain a deep level of management over the solutions, as per an on-premise technology, but leverage the scale, speed and cost effective nature of the cloud.
